WHAT TO BRING

Things you need

Remember that your fishing trip will be more enjoyable if you have had previous experience nymph or dry-fly fishing for trout.

All the gear you normally fish with you will probably find suitable in New Zealand, remembering that the fish that you will be catching will be 3lb to big so gear accordingly.

We find breathable waders good for the cold days but normally we wet wade with rubber soled wading boots and neoprene wading socks and/or long johns.

All the flies and nymphs you use at home will be fine but we find these to be essential in New Zealand - Parachute Adams, Royal Wulff or Blow-Fly imitations. Nymphs you will need - Flashbacks, Hare and Copper, Pheasant Tails - all of the above in sizes 14 – 18 should catch most fish.
